The two actors shared many scenes together throughout the beloved sitcom Friends.
Matt LeBlanc honored his late co-star Friends, Matthew Perry, with a new tribute posted to Instagram in which LeBlanc called his time with Perry “one of the favorite moments of my life.” Perry died unexpectedly on October 28 at age 54.
LeBlanc issued a joint statement regarding Perry’s death shortly after with cast members of “Friends” Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer. In a new separate post, LeBlanc said his personal goodbye.
“Matthew. I say goodbye with great regret. “Honestly, the times we spent together are among the favorite moments of my life,” LeBlanc wrote while sharing photos from the “Friends” set of him and Perry over the years. “It was an honor to share the stage with you and call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I will never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother, you are finally free. Lots of love. And I guess you get to keep the $20 you owe me.”

LeBlanc’s character on “Friends,” Joey, and Chandler, played by Perry, were best friends on the show and even roommates for a time. The two actors shared many scenes together throughout the comedy. Perry’s cause of death has not yet been revealed.. According to police, he was found unconscious in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home. There were no signs of violence or drugs at the scene.
“We are all absolutely devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just co-stars. We are Family. “There is a lot to say, but now let’s take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss,” reads the joint statement from the “Friends” cast. “Over time we will say more, when we can. For now, our thoughts and love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
Following his death, it was announced Matthew Perry Foundation and is now accepting donations to help people facing addiction.
