Soon it will be time to say goodbye: the cult show “Wetten, dass…?” comes to an end after more than 4 decades with presenter Thomas Gottschalk. In addition to numerous bets – including a children’s bet from Austria – stars such as Helene Fischer, Cher, the British pop band Take That and Matthias Schweighöfer are invited to the final edition on Saturday, November 25th at 8:15 p.m. on ORF 1. However, Gottschalk has decided not to have his long-time co-host Michelle Hunziker.
The actors Schweighöfer, Stefanie Stappenbeck and Jan Josef Liefers take a seat on the show couch in the Baden Arena in Offenburg as betting sponsors. Former footballer Bastian Schweinsteiger and his wife Ana Ivanovic are also invited. They are presented with a children’s bet from Austria. 14-year-old Felix Mayr from Großweikersdorf in Lower Austria relies on his handstand skills, strength, precision and a skateboard. Also represented are a forklift bet, a man who devotes himself entirely to crowing, and an outdoor bet from Switzerland, hosted by cabaret artist Hazel Brugger.

Pop star Helene Fischer will provide musical entertainment. She is appearing together with rapper Shirin David to perform an unprecedented version of her smash hit “Atemlos durch die Nacht” on the tenth anniversary. Cher hits the stage to spread some pre-Christmas cheer with the dancefloor song “DJ Play A Christmas Song.” The British pop band Take That performs “This Life” from their current album and sits down on the couch next to Gottschalk and co. The program is broadcast on ORF in a fully barrier-free manner.
Since 1981, “Wetten,dass..?” regularly attracts an audience of millions in front of TV screens in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The show, produced by ZDF, ORF and SRF, was regularly available until 2014. In 2021, the TV classic was re-released for a one-off Saturday evening show with Gottschalk and Hunziker. After great response from audiences, two more episodes were announced for 2022 and 2023.
