The screening of Favio’s film, which will be shown in a 35mm print. with free admission until room capacity is exhaustedis part of the Diverse Functions cycle organized by the Gender and Diversity Coordination of the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts (Incaa), the Gaumont Cinema and the Incaa National Cinematheque, it was reported in a statement.

With script Leonardo Favio and Jorge Zuhair Jury from the radio play of the same name by Juan Carlos Chiappe“Nazareno Cruz and the Wolf” (1975), stars Juan José Camero and Alfredo Alconnext to Lautaro Murúa, Marina Magali, Nora Cullen and Elcira Olivera Garcés.
Considered a classic of Argentine filmography, Favio’s film is one of the most viewed national titles in history, with more than 4 million viewers.
In a survey conducted in 2000 by the “Pablo Ducrós Hicken” Cinema Museum on the 100 best films of Argentine cinema, “Nazareno Cruz and the wolf” reached number 30; and in a new version of the survey in 2022 presented at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, the film climbed to 17th place.
In July 2022, it was declared an Asset of National Artistic Interest by the Argentine government, thus guaranteeing the conservation of the original support along with other Favio films, considered Testimonies of National Cinematographic Production.
The screening on Monday the 20th at the Gaumont will be held thanks to the collaboration of the Single Union of Workers of Rental and Horizontal Buildings (Suterh), relatives of Leonardo Favio and the Municipality of Avellaneda, which authorized Incaa to screen the film for free .
