Rape allegations against Axl Rose: The Guns N’ Roses frontman is said to have raped a woman in a hotel in 1989. Now he speaks out about the allegations himself.
Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has been sued by a woman over allegations of rape. Former “Penthouse” model Sheila Kennedy accuses the US rock singer of raping her at a party in a New York hotel suite in 1989, according to the lawsuit published by US media on Wednesday.
Axl Rose is said to have raped the model in 1989
Accordingly, Rose and Kennedy met in February 1989 in a discotheque in New York. The singer of the rock band Guns N’ Roses is said to have taken the “Penthouse” model to a party in his hotel suite, where he offered his guests “cocaine, champagne and alcohol,” according to the lawsuit. Rose is said to have thrown most of the guests out and first had sex with another woman before allegedly assaulting Kennedy.
The now 61-year-old rock musician threw Kennedy to the floor, grabbed him by the hair and “dragged him like a caveman” into his bedroom, the lawsuit says. There, Rose tied her hands behind her back and penetrated her anally.
Sheila Kennedy complains about the consequences of rape
“Rose’s sexual abuse of Kennedy had a lifelong emotional, physical, psychological and financial impact on Kennedy’s life,” the civil complaint states. The woman is demanding compensation and damages in an undisclosed amount.
In the USA, musicians have repeatedly been accused of sexual attacks against women, including rape. Just last week, rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was sued by his ex-girlfriend Casandra Ventura over allegations of rape in 2018. A day later, the two reached a settlement to dismiss the proceedings.
Also rose has denied the allegations against him of alleged sexual assault. The singer cannot remember ever meeting or speaking to the plaintiff and he has never heard of these “fabricated allegations” before, his lawyer Alan Gutman said on Wednesday (local time). “Simply put, this incident never happened,” said the statement, which was available to the German Press Agency.
Guns N’ Roses with hits in the 90s
Guns N’ Roses had big hits in the ’80s and ’90s with “November Rain,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” and “Paradise City.” Since their formation in 1985, the hard rock band has sold more than 100 million albums.
