Even in the life of a star, things don’t always go according to plan. In his daughters’ podcast, Sylvester Stallone now reports on the dark moments in his career.
Action star Sylvester Stallone (“Rocky”) said he suffered from enormous self-doubt when he couldn’t get any jobs for years in the early 2000s. “I felt so useless,” the 77-year-old told his daughters Sophia (27) and Sistine (25) on their podcast “Unwaxed.” “I was so ashamed to be your father.”
The actor, who enjoyed great success in the 1970s and 1980s with the “Rocky” and “Rambo” films, among others, had a pretty bad time around 20 years ago, as he described to his daughters. “I thought I was finally done. The phone didn’t ring,” Stallone said. “You didn’t even know what I did for a living.” His daughters recalled that Stallone watched movies all day during this time.
Stallone finally made his comeback with the fourth film in the “Rocky” series in 2006. He also believes that his difficult period in life has made him more sensitive and “a much better actor,” said Stallone.
