Helena Fürst (49) was diagnosed with brain tumor in 2020. . The benign meningioma was discovered during a routine MRI, the site reports. The investigation was carried out on the occasion of her planned participation in the TV format “Celebrity Boxing”. Shortly after the diagnosis, she suffered from “lightning pain” in the right side of her body and a ringing in her ears, says Fürst. A medical report then showed that the tumor had spread to the ear canal.
The doctors advised the reality TV actress to have a surgical tumor reduction followed by individual irradiation of the remaining tumor, but Fürst decided against surgery due to the risks. No doctor could assure her “that he would get even part of the tumor out of my head without damage.” The tumor has not yet disappeared, but has shrunk significantly, for which she is incredibly grateful, says Fürst. Thanks to individual therapy, she is doing much better, she is confident and assumes that she has been “lucky”.

The illness had serious consequences, as the TV star further reports. These included, among other things, problems with speaking and seeing and, at times, severe paralysis. Due to brain swelling, she had to take cortisone, which caused swelling in her face that earned her nasty comments. This is also why she wants to finally clear up the injustices that have happened to her, emphasizes Fürst. All the things that she used to get upset about “seem small, almost ridiculous when you’re fighting for your life,” she explains. “People will always talk. I only want one thing: to get well.” The 49-year-old says she has dealt with death “and with the fact that I might not survive this.” “It was and is a tough battle that I will win for my daughter.”
