Heidelinde Weis became known for productions such as “Derrick”, “Der Alte” and “Traumschiff”. Her great love was the theater. Now the Austrian has died.
The Austrian actress Heidelinde Weis has died at the age of 83. The death of the actress, who was known from more than 100 appearances in films and TV productions such as “Derrick”, “Der Alte” and “Traumschiff”, was confirmed to the German press agency dpa. The broadcaster ORF and the “Kronen Zeitung” had previously reported on it.
Weis came from Villach in the southern Austrian state of Carinthia, but spent almost her entire professional life in Germany. In recent years she has returned to her homeland.
Although Weis was known to audiences from television (“The Woman in White”, “Black Forest Clinic”), her real love was the theater. She appeared on stages in Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Munich, among others. At the Salzburg Festival she was seen alongside Klaus Maria Brandauer. As a singer she was honored with the German Record Prize in 1976.
