The third season of “Slow Horses”drama, espionage and dark humor series starring the Oscar winner Gary Oldman as the leader of a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents, can be seen starting this Wednesday, November 29 on the platform Apple TV+.
Based on the novels of the English author Mick Herronthe strip returns with six new episodes directed by Saul Metzsteinwho had already had his time on the small screen as a director in the long-running and science fiction classic “Doctor Who” and in the criminal and mystery plot “Ripper Street”.
What Slow Horses is about
Released in April 2022, “Slow Horses” focuses on the fictional Slough House, a kind of purgatory of MI5 – the intelligence service dedicated to the internal security of the United Kingdom – for those members who have an unhappy record in their service but who were not fired from the agency. .
There they are forced to perform administrative tasks and even endure workplace harassment by their insufferable and misanthropic boss, Jackson Lamb (Oldman), who hopes to push them to resign through exhaustion, frustration or simple boredom, although somehow the group of marginalized people manages to get involved in investigations and missions against different threats to the country.
With a sequence of tone opposite to the gray, dirty and gloomy climates that the series usually presents, this installment begins in an idyllic setting in Istanbul, where Alison Dunn (Katherine Waterstone), a British embassy agent, is having an affair with Sean Donovan (Sope Dirisu), the head of security at the consulate.
However, when Dunn surprises Donovan looking for some secret files from his desk and discovers that the romance was a cover for an espionage operation, a chase by water and land is unleashed, the result of which will have an impact on the Slough House team a year later. , when one of its members is kidnapped and his colleagues must do everything possible to save his life.
What they do not know until then is that behind this network is the dispute over delicate and hidden information from London’s MI5, dragging them into a story of conspiracy in which both they and the service to which they respond will be left on the ropes.
