Billie Eilish: Pop star speaks openly about her tattoos – one is on the chest

As every year, pop star Billie Eilish answered a questionnaire from the “Vanity Fair”. This year, among other things, she spoke about the discussion about her appearance and revealed which tattoos she has.

In the meantime it has almost become a cherished tradition for Billie Eilish: Since 2017, the pop star has been giving the same interview to the magazine “Vanity Fair” year after year. She was only 16 years old at the time. In 2021, Eilish, who will turn 20 on December 18, answered the same questions about her past year – and thus granted deep insights into her life. The questionnaire is about what things she regrets, whom she asked for advice and what her most successful Instagram post was.

Among other things, the singer revealed that she has a tattoo with her last name on her chest. “Yes, I love myself,” said Billie Eilish in the interview. Accordingly, the musician has three tattoos: a large dragon on her hip, and a few weeks ago she also had a fairy tattoo on her hand. The mythical creatures are from the book “Fairyopolis”, with which she grew up. “I love tattoos,” Eilish continued. Her mother, however, is not a fan: “My mom hates tattoos.” But Eilish wants more: “Give me some time and I’ll get another one.”

Billie Eilish on discussions about her style: “Wear what you want”

2021 was an eventful year for Billie Eilish: She released her highly anticipated album “Happier Than Ever”, won two Grammys and contributed the theme song for the Bond film “No Time to Die”, which was released that year. In addition, Apple published a documentary about her life. In addition, her new style caused a sensation: Eilish dyed her hair blonde, showed herself in body-hugging clothes instead of baggy clothes and appeared to be more grown-up overall – which not all fans liked.

Eilish can therefore not understand the discussions. “It’s not a new style, it was just something that I used to wear,” she said, looking at her “Vogue” cover, on which she was unusually revealing. “And another day I’ll wear something different.” Her new motto is: “Everything is allowed. Period.” Eilish continued: “Since I started, I’ve been saying: wear what you want. Behave how you want. Talk how you want. Be how you want.”

Eilish had an “identity crisis”

However, it cannot be overlooked that a new phase of life has begun for Eilish – and not just outwardly. “I’m starting to grow up, which is new and very exciting for me, and I’ve had new experiences, met new people and got a lot of love,” she sums up her year. The pop star deals with these processes on the album “Happier Than Ever”.

The topic there is, among other things, the constant life in public – and in the interview Eilish goes into what it means to be confronted with hatred and nasty comments. However, she is confident: “Now a lot of people hate me, so I don’t worry anymore. If you like me, you like me, and if you don’t, you don’t like me.” In previous years she had been very popular for the most part: “And I was scared because I wanted to keep this love.”

And of course, 2021 was another pandemic year for Billie Eilish – as it was for the rest of the world. However, one that was apparently much more relaxed than the year before: Upon seeing her interview from 2020, Eilish diagnosed himself with an “identity crisis”. That was mainly due to the fact that she was unable to play concerts due to the corona pandemic. “I can be in a bad mood before a show and when I come off the stage I feel reborn.”
