However, the spokesperson also noted that the contractor in charge is “trying to see if Banksy’s artwork can be preserved in any way” and said there was “no certainty” in this regard “given the fact that the artwork was painted over and the poor condition of the coating”.
If they can recover the work, the mural would remain in the hands of the company since it is the one that is taking care of all the expenses for its restoration. In this sense, the company announced that the recovered pieces of the mural are currently “being evaluated.”
