The 35-year-old will sit on the jury for the season in the spring alongside Dieter Bohlen (69) and Pietro Lombardi (31), the broadcaster wrote on Friday. Rapper and influencer Loredana (28) takes fourth place.
In 2013, Egli was the first female artist to be successful with German hits in the casting show. With her appearance as a juror, she now wants to give back respect and gratitude for being able to start her career on the “DSDS” stage, said the Swiss in a video on rtl.de. “I’m curious about the voices of Germany.”
Rapper Loredana comes from a completely different musical direction. Show titan Dieter Bohlen is looking forward to the two new jurors. “It will be very interesting because the two will of course have completely different opinions,” he said. The 21st edition of the show has all the ingredients for a “great season”.
RTL actually announced that the 20th season would be the last this year. While up to 15 million people watched the first season in 2002/2003, most recently only a good two million tuned in to the television. But then Bohlen surprisingly announced a sequel in 2024. “DSDS” has “incredible distribution” via streaming, including on Instagram and Tiktok, he said.
When the “DSDS finale” was shown on RTL this year, Egli appeared on ARD at the same time as her “The Beatrice Egli Show” – and thus attracted significantly more viewers to the television than the casting format.
