The Hives passed through Buenos Aires again and those who were at the Vorterix Theater last night (and on Wednesday) are surely already missing them.
In weeks where the capital of our country was transformed into a kind of epicenter of music, with visits that include: Roger Waters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Cure, Blur, Beck, The Weknd, Taylor Swift and many more, The Hives He arrived to contribute his share of punk and garage rock.
The band of Swedish origin formed in 1993, made up of Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist (voice) Nicholaus Arson (guitar), Watchman Carlstroem (Rhythmic guitar), Dr. Matt Destruction (low) and Chris Dangerous (drums), showed off his power and charisma in a show to remember.

The song list included classics from the band as well as songs from their most recent material. “The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons”. The new one “Bogus Operandi” was chosen to start, two hits immediately followed: “Main Offender” and “Walk Idiot Walk”.
who have seen The Hives In their previous visits they will know about the dedication of the band and especially its leader Howlin’ Pelle. The harangues and jokes with the public were constant, at times in English and on most occasions with more than decent Spanish.

The party continued with “Rigor Mortis Radio”after the “Olé, olé” of the people, arrived “Good Samaritan” and “Go Right Ahead” from the 2012 album “Lex Hives”a melody that inevitably leads to remembering the classic Electric Light Orchestra “Don’t Bring Me Down”.
“Stick Up” preceded another of the jewels of the Swedes: “Hate to Say I Told You So” (“I hate to say I told you so.”) Then they continued “Trapdoor Solution” and “I’m Alive”.
“Smoke & Mirrors”, “The Bomb” and “Countdown to Shutdown” They were the band’s last three songs before their first farewell. It averaged an hour, and a few minutes, of a show charged by the heat of the band, the audience and the place itself.
The closure came from the powerful “Come On!” and “Tick Tick Boom”. It was a night of pogo, shake, punk and rock. It had been nine years since the band’s last visit, last night the promise that resonated in the air is that it won’t be that long until The Hives sound again on a stage in our country.
