Film: Former child star Macaulay Culkin honored with Hollywood star

“Home Alone” made the actor a child star in 1990. Now the 43-year-old has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Former child star Macaulay Culkin (43, “Home Alone”) has been honored with a star plaque in Hollywood. The actor unveiled the 2,765th star on the famous Walk of Fame. Catherine O’Hara (69, “Schitt’s Creek”) and Natasha Lyonne (44, “Irresistible”) were invited as guest speakers.

In the comedy hit Home Alone, O’Hara played the film mother of the little title character Kevin, who is accidentally forgotten at home by his parents during a Christmas trip. The film, in which Kevin creatively thwarts two burglars, was a huge success in 1990 and made Culkin a child star. Chris Columbus directed from the screenplay by John Hughes. The director was also on board again for the sequel “Kevin – Alone in New York” (1992).

Culkin posed for photographers and spectators at the ceremony with his partner, actress Brenda Song (35, “The Social Network”), and their young sons Dakota and Carson. Paris Jackson (25), the daughter of pop star Michael Jackson (1958-2009), was also there. Culkin is her godfather.
