David Lynch: His wife Emily Stofle files for divorce

Love with the maker of classics like “Twin Peaks”, “Lost Highway” and “Mulholland Drive”. As the US celebrity portal reports, the wife of cult director David Lynch has officially filed for divorce. According to the report, in her application after 14 years of marriage, Emily Stofle is demanding sole custody of their eleven-year-old daughter Lula Boginia Lynch as well as spousal support and reimbursement of the resulting legal fees. However, the 77-year-old should be granted visitation rights for Lula. Nothing is known about a marriage contract between the two.

The actress and the director met and fell in love in 2006 on the set of the David Lynch film “Inland Empire.” The two married in 2009. Their first and only daughter was born in 2012.

Director David Lynch has been married three times

It wouldn’t be the first divorce for David Lynch – he has already been married three times. With his first wife Peggy he has a daughter, Jennifer, who also works as a director. His second wife Mary Fisk gave him son Austin, who is an actor, and with his third wife Mary Sweeney, David Lynch had a son Riley, who earns his living as a musician.

In a 2018 interview with the British newspaper, the filmmaker said when asked about his personal life: “You have to be selfish. And that’s a terrible thing. I never really wanted to get married, I never really wanted to have children. But one thing leads to another and that’s how it is.” However, he always put his work first, which meant that he wasn’t the best husband and father: “I did what I had to do.”
