The tedium of work, popular heroes, the scars of family history and the library of Argentine literature are some of the topics that the writer Marcelo Arias addresses in his book of stories “The inertia of bodies”, which navigates between collective and the intimate, between the known and the new, with a diversity of narrative registers.

The stories travel through the immensity of the pampas and the open waters of the Río de la Plata, which invite adventure and revenge and, in all of them, the epiphany springs in closed and minimal spaces that seem to condense a truth that was always deep inside. of the characters and only manages to emerge under the pressure of narrative adventures.

Arias is the author of the fiction works “The Sound Barrier” (Buenos Aires, Modesto Rimba, 2016) and “A Narrow World: Travel Novel” (Buenos Aires, Modesto Rimba, 2018). As a researcher and discourse analyst, he is the author of the essay “The television news: glare of a disturbing discourse” (Buenos Aires, Biblos, 2014).
In addition to being a writer, he is a university professor, with a degree in Letters from the University of Buenos Aires and a Master’s degree in Social Sciences and Humanities from the National University of Quilmes, a professor of Discourse Analysis at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the National University. from Lomas de Zamora, and professor of Linguistics at the University of Buenos Aires.
“The inertia of bodies” will be presented with Arias, Gabriela Baby, Fernando Bogado and Corina Materazzi next Tuesday, December 5, at 6 p.m., at the Museum of Books and Language -Avenida Las Heras 2555- of the Buenos aires city.
