Reality TV star Evelyn Burdecki is often seen as a bit naive. But what does she actually say about it herself?
Some may consider the reality star Evelyn Burdecki (32), known from numerous TV formats, to be a fool. But that didn’t stop her from becoming a jungle queen, for example, and the 13th season of “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!” to win. she is now talking about whether she is possibly smarter than some viewers think.
“At least a lot of people underestimate me,” says Burdecki. “They think I’m a bit stupid and naive.” It also has a practical side for her, “because I always fall softly when I’ve said something that is not so clever. I have intellectual days and not so intellectual days. That’s why I have no pressure to be particularly smart – I can just surprise. ”
The thing about the money
Apparently some people want to take advantage of them and are after their money, but the 32-year-old learns quickly and “have developed a radar for people who want to rip me off”. Because as a celebrity you have to “take care of your money like hell”. Since she was better known, “investment people keep calling who offer me to get rich quick.” They are also ambushed on the street. “This is mafia, of course I will keep my hands off that,” she explains. Since she has been in the TV industry, she has “always asked all people holes in the stomach in order to understand things” – and she got tips from her colleagues, including from presenter Barbara Schöneberger (47), comedian Oliver Pocher (43) and “Let’s Dance” juror Joachim Llambi (56).
A house for the parents
Last year Burdecki bought her parents a house “so that my father can finally have his own garden and the two no longer have to worry about money.” The former jungle queen originally did an apprenticeship at Aldi and “sometimes used to have three waiter jobs at the same time”: “In the morning in a bakery with a café, at lunch in a restaurant and in the evening in a burger shop.” On good days she earned a tip of 300 euros and more, but didn’t squander any of it and “put everything on the savings account. Better three hedgehogs in her pocket than one big hole!”
Even today Burdecki is still quite economical and “don’t buy pointless expensive stuff, even if I could afford it now”. She’d rather buy “five bags” full of cheaper clothes “and be happy all day that I only paid a fraction of what I would have paid for a Gucci item”. Most recently, however, she made an exception for a Chanel handbag and flipped 4,000 euros.
