TV veterinarian Stephanie Petersen is selling her luxury property on Sylt

Veterinarian Stephanie Petersen has been running a practice on Sylt for more than 20 years. The premises are part of a luxurious property that the TV-famous doctor is now offering for sale.

Stephanie Petersen is an institution on Sylt. She has been running a veterinary practice in Wenningstedt-Braderup for over 20 years and passionately cares for the four-legged friends on the North Sea island. She also appears in TV shows such as “Die Tier-Docs” (Sat. 1) and “Die Veterinarians – Rescuers with Heart” (ARD). Petersen lives with her partner and two sons on the Söl’ring estate, which was built in 2013. Not only is her home and veterinary practice located there, but also one of the most famous Trakehner stud farms in Germany. Petersen and her partner breed the noble horse breed. Now Gut Söl’ring is for sale.

The real estate company Sotheby’s International Realty is offering the luxurious property near the sea for sale on its website. The purchase price is 19.5 million euros. The future owner also gets a lot to offer in return.

Plenty of space for people and horses

The house has an area of 400 square meters, 13 rooms and eight bathrooms. In addition to the 14,700 square meter property, there is around 15 hectares of agricultural land. The heart of the property is the 870 square meter equestrian center. There are stables, lungeing areas and a boarding stable with twelve boxes that can be rented out externally.

There is also a granny flat, a holiday apartment and a veterinary practice on the property. Whether Stephanie Petersen has to clear it out after the sale is currently “future music,” the doctor told the online portal “shz.de”. “This and next year definitely won’t change anything. A property like this doesn’t sell overnight,” said the 52-year-old.

She wants to continue working as a veterinarian on the island. “After 23 years of everyday practice (…), back-breaking seasonal work including emergency services on weekends and public holidays” as well as raising her two children, she just needs to “put the brakes on a little” and “give herself time to recover”. In the future, Petersen wants to choose between Sylt and the Münsterland, where she and her husband have a second home.

Stephanie Petersen was a flight attendant before becoming a veterinarian

Even as a child, Stephanie Petersen dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. She initially earned money as a flight attendant, but the job wasn’t fulfilling. So she studied veterinary medicine in Leipzig and then worked in a small animal practice in Berlin. Because of love, she finally moved to Sylt and opened her practice in 2001. Celebrities also come to Petersen from time to time with their four-legged friends, such as football coach Jürgen Klopp or designer Guido Mario Kretschmer.

In addition to Petersen’s practice, there are only two others on Sylt. For that reason alone, the doctor doesn’t want to move permanently. “I will continue to be there for the island and the animals. For me, being a veterinarian is not just a job, it is my passion. If you like doing something, you are always enthusiastic. I have a responsibility on the island,” said she told the “Bild” newspaper.
