The granny hair look is once again very popular in hairstyle trends – and is presented by both young and older women. Stars like actress Andie MacDowell (63) or singer Anne-Marie (30) show how to style hairstyles with the fashionable hair color.

Proper care

What defines the artificial granny hair look is its silver sheen. Maintaining this, however, requires patience, skill and the right products. Since the hair is bleached and then dyed with a matching silver shade, the individual strands often become porous and the color loses its strength. As a result, every three to four weeks you have to help with a silver toner, a kind of tint.

Silver shampoo also combats the yellow tinge, but dries out the hair. A conditioner should therefore always be used when washing your hair. Then treat the towel-dried hair ends with a little argan or almond oil. Two to three drops are usually enough and give the hair an additional shine.
