LINZ. In contrast to the previous time, however, no full salaries are paid.
The Landestheater Linz has again sent its employees on short-time work from December 1st.
“The compensation for short-time work will be based on the statutory minimum replacement rates,” said a press release. Throughout the winter, productions from the various categories will again be offered to the public as streams as well as two TV broadcasts.
However, the streaming and TV activities would not bring the full workload of the staff, as would have been planned for the omitted performances, and therefore short-time work agreements were concluded with the works councils. The performers of the Landestheater Linz and the musicians of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz will be on short-time work for the period between December 1 and 31, 2021, the technicians between December 1 and 17. From November 2020 to April of this year, the majority of the approximately 1,000 employees at Theater und Orchester GmbH (TOG) were already on short-time work. Instead of the usual 80 percent, however, 100 percent of the salaries were paid because the works council would otherwise not have approved the short-time work. That made the headlines.
The current short-time work will be used in order to be able to resume gaming immediately after the end of the lockdown. Rehearsals will therefore continue during the period of short-time work, and a number of productions will be produced for streaming – including: “The Garden”, “Old Masters”, “Der Graf von Luxemburg”, “Jenny Hübner intervenes” (Netzbühne Live), “Mission: KLIMA” (Netzbühne Live), “Malala – Mädchen mit Buch” (Netzbühne Live) and “Alienation” (Netzbühne Live).
A total of around 20 productions will be offered as stream over the entire winter. The offer also includes the operas “I Capuleti ei Montecchi” and “Le nozze di Figaro”, the musical “Songs for a New World”, the magic farce “The evil spirit Lumpazivagabundus”, the play “United Nations”, the comedy “The Brochne Krug “and the play” Understand jihadism in eight steps! (twitching) “. The Landestheater Linz also shows the Christmas fairy tale “Alice in Wonderland” and “Young Classics – Faust Short Cuts”. The Bruckner Orchestra is also represented with a “Schubert & Haydn” concert under Bruno Weil.
“Der Graf von Luxemburg” will be broadcast on January 9, 2022 on ORF III. The Bruckner Orchestra will stream the inaugural concert of the new principal guest conductor Giedre ?? lekyte with the cello star Kian Soltani on the Netzbühne from December 13th. This concert can also be heard on January 7, 2022 on Ö1. Under the direction of chief conductor Markus Poschner, a concert for the New Year will be recorded in the music theater, which can be experienced on January 5, 2022 on LT1. In addition, the ORF Upper Austria will record its annual review 2021 in the music theater, which will be broadcast on the ORF main evening on December 20. The Upper Austrian Advent singing is also recorded.
