The documentary series Lennon: Murder Without a Trial premiered on Apple TV+ in which more details of the tragic night of his death are given.

On December 8, 1980, Mark David Chapman carried out one of the most memorable attacks in recent times: killing the legendary musician John Lennon. This Wednesday, a documentary was released on Apple TV+ in which more details of that tragic night are given and there they revealed what were the last words that the member of the Beatles after receiving four bullets from his murderer.

The death of John Lennon impacted millions of fans around the world, who even today wonder what motivated Chapman to shoot that December 8. The documentary series Lennon: Murder Without a Trial (Apple TV+), released this December 6, has three episodes of almost forty minutes that focus on the murder of the musician and the subsequent steps of the main accused, who pleaded guilty. Although 43 years have passed since that event, there are still details little known to fans.

John Lennon’s last words

Joe Many The doorman of the building in Dakota, New York, revealed the musician’s last words after having received four of the five shots fired by the murderer. “John ran past me. He said, ‘I’ve been shot.’ He had blood coming out of his mouth. She just collapsed to the ground.. I rolled him onto his back, took off his glasses, and placed them on the desk. AND Yoko (Ono) shouted ‘bring an ambulance, bring an ambulance, bring an ambulance’”.

Another witness to this attack was the taxi driver Richard Peterson, who told what it was like that night. “Lennon was entering the building and the man said his name. He was a burly man. He looked at it through the front window of my taxi. I’m looking at him and he shoots him (…) I thought they were filming a movie, but I didn’t see lights or cameras or anything, so I realized what was really happening,” he explained.

This documentary was directed by Nick Holt and Rob Coldstream, and has all kinds of testimonies: from the doctors and nurses who treated the musician, to the doorman and the taxi driver who witnessed this historic moment. “For the first time, key figures in the life and death of John Lennon, including friends, doctors and investigators, share personal memories and reveal what happened the night of his murder,” says the synopsis of the docuseries that can be seen starting this Thursday. enjoy through the streaming platform (Apple TV+).
