Nobility: Visiting Belgium’s royal couple: two drones intercepted

As the Dresden Police Department announced, investigations were initiated against two men for violating the Aviation Act.

The police intercepted and seized two drones during the Belgian royal couple’s visit to Dresden. The two aircraft appeared over the old town on Thursday and thus in an area for which special security precautions applied.

As the Dresden Police Department announced, investigations were initiated against two men aged 22 and 34 for violating the Aviation Act. Drones were only allowed to take off during the visit with an exceptional permit.

King Philippe and his wife Mathilde were out and about in downtown Dresden after visiting the semiconductor company X-Fab on Thursday afternoon. After a tour of the Old Masters Picture Gallery and the Frauenkirche, they strolled through the Christmas market at the Frauenkirche together with Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Saxony’s Prime Minister Michael Kretschmer and their wives and spoke to numerous passers-by.
