British TV channels ITVI and ITVX had positioned their cameras for the live broadcast of the annual Christmas concert at Westminster Abbey when the Prince of Wales’s family appeared and Princess Kate caught everyone’s attention. Not only did the couple show up with all three of their children, Kate’s outfit as the evening’s host made her look Hollywood-esque.
The Christmas concert, which was broadcast on British TV, contained a very special message this year. The event honored children who supported a good cause. The royal family took time in the church to speak to the guests present. For one little boy, the Princess even crouched down to have a chat with seven-year-old Oscar Burrow from Lancaster.

For example, there is an impressive story behind his presence that evening. At the age of six, Oscar raised more than £40,000 for Derian House Children’s Hospice in Chorley, Lancashire, by climbing twelve mountains. His mother Kimberley Burrow said afterwards of her son’s conversation with the future queen: “She said she heard what he did and he was doing a fantastic job. She hopes what he does inspires other children to do the same will do great things.”
Before the Christmas concert, the Princess also chatted to four scouts from the 3rd Upton Scout Group in Slough. The Boy Scouts were no strangers to Kate. The royals had their family during of Coronation weekend of King Charles III. visited as part of “The Big Help Out” event and helped renovate her home. “It was really inspiring. Seriously, good job,” she is said to have told the children. She then high-fived the scouts one by one.
To celebrate the day, Princess Kate presented guests at the concert with a very special celebratory gift – a rendition of “Last “Christmas”played on John Lennon’s Piano.
