The 51-year-old is looking forward to Christmas. He said in the interview that the festival was a nice break for him to meet relatives and friends. But he forgoes a Christmas tree.
The comedian and actor Bastian Pastewka (51) says he is quite frugal at the festival. In the Deutschlandfunk interview program “Zwischendenken” broadcast on Sunday, when asked what he wanted for Christmas, the comedian said: “Nothing. Time and a chocolate.”
But he has nothing against the festival. “I always look forward to Christmas because it means a nice break from my everyday life, I get to meet a lot of relatives and friends again, it’s a nice time. But I haven’t had a single Christmas tree in the living room in my life. Never.”
Pastewka can also be seen in a new show at Christmas. The three-hour Christmas special of the comedy show “LOL: Last One Laughing – Xmas Special” will be released on Amazon’s Prime Video on December 22nd. In it he can be seen alongside, for example, Anke Engelke, Carolin Kebekus and Teddy Teclebrhan.
Pastewka also commented on comedy in general in Germany in the DLF broadcast. “Always saying: “Those up there can’t do anything, those up there can’t do anything, those up there can’t do anything,” “And the Lauterbach, and the Lauterbach, and the Lauterbach.” – I can’t hear it anymore. Really. Then It just makes it better.”
Pastewka said he was never a political person. His understanding of comedy is different: “We have to start with ourselves, we have to look at what kind of idiots we actually are. Where are we contradictory? That’s always been what I’ve tried to tell with my comedy. “
