Music star Frank Zander (81) is struggling with health problems shortly before Christmas. On December 11th he was taken to a Berlin hospital by ambulance. His son Marcus has now given an update on the singer’s health.
His father is currently being examined intensively in the hospital “and as of this afternoon the doctors are hopeful that they may have found the problem,” he announces. The exact diagnosis is not yet 100% certain, but if everything goes well, “he will be fit again quickly and 100%,” explains Marcus Zander. His father also said: “A real Berlin veteran won’t break down so quickly. It’ll be fine!”
How did you end up in the hospital?
Frank Zander had to be taken by ambulance to the Martin Luther Hospital in Berlin on Monday. Marcus Zander confirmed this. After a television program on December 1st and a previous corona infection, his father’s physical condition became “worse day by day”.
He barely got out of bed in the morning and hardly had any appetite. His family doctor then pulled the ripcord and urgently recommended that Frank Zander be taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
Christmas party takes place
Frank Zander explained in a short statement: “I could think of something better than having to go to the clinic before my Christmas party for the needy and homeless.” But there was no other way: “I was getting weaker and weaker. And now I’m being completely checked here.”
The Christmas party, which he has been organizing for the homeless and needy since the 1990s, will definitely take place on December 22nd in Berlin’s Estrel Hotel, emphasizes Marcus Zander in an RTL interview. If his father cannot personally welcome the guests at the “warm family celebration for the poorest of the poor,” he and his son Elias will step in.
