What Good Omens is about
In what was originally going to be a limited series, Sheen will return as Aziraphale, a finicky angel and rare book dealer, and Tennant as the fast-living demon Crowley, an unlikely duo who teamed up to save the world from the apocalypse. Good Omens It is based on the much-loved novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch of Sir Terry Pratchett and Gaiman. The new season is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, BBC Studios Productions, Blank Corporation and Narrativia.
“Good Omens has ticked all the boxes for a smart, witty and fun comedy that not only made it a hit on Prime Video but also made ‘goodness’ watchable and fun thanks to the immense creativity of Neil and Terry” said Vernon Sanders, head of television, Amazon MGM Studios. “The final season is sure to be packed with the same dynamic energy that our global customers have come to enjoy.”
Gaiman added: “I’m very happy to finally be able to finish the story that Terry and I hatched in 1989 and 2006. Terry was determined that if we made Good Omens for television, we could take the story to the end. The first season was about avoiding Armageddon, dangerous prophecies and the end of the world. The second season was sweet and gentle, although it may have ended with less joy than a certain angel and demon would have expected. Now, In season three, we will once again deal with the end of the world. Plans for Armageddon go wrong. Only Crowley and Aziraphale working together can hope to fix it. And they are not talking.”
