George Clooney and Adam Sandler will star in the new movie (untitled) Netflix who will direct Noah Baumbach. Baumbach also co-wrote the script with Emily Mortimer. Baumbach, Amy Pascal and David Heyman are producing.
Plot details are scarce at this point, other than it being a fun and emotional coming-of-age movie. Baumbach has an exclusive deal with the streaming platform as he previously directed The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)which also starred Sandler, Marriage history and more recently White noise. He also co-wrote the highest-grossing film of the year, Barbiewith his partner, also the director Greta Gerwig.
For Clooney and Sandler, this would be the first time the movie stars have worked together.
Clooney recently directed Boys in the Boat starring Calum Turner and Joel Edgerton. That movie will be released this Christmas. She will also star alongside her co-star Ocean’s Eleven Brad Pitt in the apple movie Wolfs, which is also producing. That film will be released in 2024.
Sandler also kept busy in 2023, including with several Netflix movies, Murder Mystery 2 and You’re not invited to my bat mitzvah!. She also recently provided her voice for the Netflix animated film Leo.
