The “Friends” actor was found dead in his hot tub in late October. Now coroners are revealing the causes of his death.
“Friends” star Matthew Perry died from the effects of the anesthetic ketamine, according to the Los Angeles coroner’s office. Added to this were, among other things, drowning, heart disease and the effects of a drug used to treat opioid addiction, a report said. The death was an accident.
Perry was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home in late October. He was only 54 years old. The actor had previously spoken publicly about his battle with addiction to alcohol and drugs, among other things.
The cult TV series “Friends” about six young friends in New York was produced in the USA from 1994 to 2004. Perry, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer starred. Perry’s death caused shock and sadness around the world.
