In November, George Lazenby injured his head in a fall and had to be hospitalized. Now the former “Agent 007” is back home and recovering.
Australian actor and former James Bond actor George Lazenby is on the mend after a fall. The 84-year-old fell in his home in Los Angeles in November and suffered a head injury, his manager Anders Frejdh announced on Instagram on Saturday. Lazenby is now back home and recovering. Frejdh posted a photo at Lazenby’s bedside and thanked the staff at the hospital where the former “Agent 007” was treated.
At the beginning of the month, Lazenby started a live stream on Instagram, which ended after just a few seconds. Because the Australian was seen in the hospital bed in that brief moment, fans expressed concern on social media. Shortly afterwards, his management gave the all-clear and announced that Lazenby’s condition was not serious. “It’s not easy getting older,” Frejdh wrote, “but at 84 George has definitely shown what kind of fighter he is.”
George Lazenby was the second James Bond actor to play the famous secret agent in “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” in 1969. As the direct successor to original Bond Sean Connery, the ex-model landed the coveted role without any acting experience. “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” (original title) is now considered a classic and one of the best James Bond films. However, Lazenby declined a contract for further 007 films on the recommendation of his agent at the time. He later regretted this decision, as he admitted in interviews.
