Alec Baldwin: He took on pro-Palestine protesters

Alec Baldwin found himself at the center of a heated debate during a pro-Palestine demonstration. He even had to be escorted by police.

The American actor Alec Baldwin (65) loudly clashed with a demonstrator at a pro-Palestine rally in New York City. As a video shows, police removed Baldwin from the scene after the incident to avoid further escalation. The demonstration was organized by the local Palestinian group Within Our Lifetime. It is not clear from the material whether Baldwin was present by chance or specifically took part in the demonstration.

In the recordings you can hear and see how the serious-looking Baldwin initially appears to be arguing with some demonstrators, some of whom are filming him with their smartphones. The scenario then seems to get out of hand. In the recorded snippets of the conversation, Baldwin says clearly at one point: “That’s my business. That’s my business.” A few moments later, one of the demonstrators asked him the question: “You work for Hollywood, do you condemn Israel?” Baldwin replies with a scowl: “You’ve already formed an opinion?” The man replies a short “That’s your answer?” after which Baldwin storms towards him and repeatedly repeats in an urgent tone: “You’re asking stupid questions! Ask me a smart question!”

While Baldwin approaches the questioner and appears to attack him physically, more and more police officers suddenly intervene. The officers then escort Baldwin from the crowd. Individual participants then shout in the direction of Baldwin “Piss off!” and “Why are you even showing up here?” Baldwin seems to have had enough of the discussion and only responds with a snide “Shut up!” It is not yet clear how the dispute came about and what exactly the content of the disagreement was. Neither Baldwin nor the New York Police Department responded to NBC’s requests for comment.

Israel and the Palestinian Hamas have been at war since the beginning of October

Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas, which rules in the Gaza Strip, are currently at war. The current conflict was triggered by a Hamas attack on Israeli territory on October 7, 2023. Around 1,200 people were killed in the attack and around 250 others were kidnapped into the Gaza Strip. At the same time, thousands of rockets were fired at Israeli cities. The Israeli armed forces responded immediately with massive bombings and rocket attacks and launched a parallel ground offensive in the Gaza Strip at the end of October, which continues to this day.
