January 4 – The Sun Brothers (Premiere) – Netflix
The year begins with the launch of this action and dark humor series that follows the lethal hitman Charles Sun, who after an attack suffered by his father, the head of a powerful Taiwanese trivia, travels to Los Angeles to protect his mother, Eileen, and his innocent younger brother, Bruce. With his appearance, some family secrets are uncovered and everyone must mend their ties before becoming the target of their enemies from the underworld.
In this eight-episode proposal, created by Brad Falchuk and Byron Wu, Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh, Justin Chien and Sam Song Li share a cast with Highdee Kuan, Joon Lee, Jon Xue Zhang and Madison Hu, among more.
January 9 – Echo (Premiere) – Disney+ and Star+
The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to explore new territories with this miniseries starring Alaqua Cox as Maya López, the hearing-impaired antiheroine that audiences met in the series “Hawkeye,” and who now returns with these five exclusive episodes about her story. On the run from the clutches of her adoptive uncle, the fearsome mobster Wilson Fisk, young Echo will return to her home, where she will encounter her Native American roots and her deep heritage.
Directors Sydney Freeland and Catriona McKenzie share direction in this proposal in which the renowned Vincent D’Onofrio reprises his role as Fisk, along with a cast that also includes Chaske Spencer, Graham Greene, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Zahn McClarnon and Cody Lightning.

January 10 – Criminal History (Premiere) – Apple TV+
The multi-award-winning Scottish actor Peter Capaldi, best known for having played one of the versions of the famous “Doctor Who”, stars in this eight-part police thriller set in London as detective Daniel Hegarty, who along with his colleague June Lenker will be dragged into by an unexpected anonymous call to a confrontation over an old homicide case.
Directed by filmmaker Jim Loach and created by Paul Rutman, the same man behind the hit police strip “Vera,” the series stars Cush Jumbo, Charlie Creed-Miles, Dionne Brown, Shaun Dooley, Stephen Campbell-Moore, Zoë Wanamaker and Rasaq Kukoyi.
January 14 – True Detective: Nightland (Season 4) – HBO and HBO Max
One of the most acclaimed crime drama proposals of recent years returns with the fourth installment of its anthology format, in which Oscar winner Jodie Foster is Liz Danvers, a detective from the Alaska town who must join forces with her colleague Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) to, despite the dark and traumatic past that unites them, solve the perverse disappearance of eight members of an Arctic research station.
Filmed in Iceland, the new season of six episodes directed by Mexican Issa López features Finn Bennett, Fiona Shaw, Christopher Eccleston, Isabella Star LaBlanc and John Hawkes in its cast; as well as special appearances by Anna Lambe, Aka Niviana, June Thiele, Diane Benson and Joel D. Montgrand.

January 19 – Zorro (Premiere) – Amazon Prime Video
The very popular figure of Diego de la Vega returns to the screen with this Spanish series in which the young Valencian actor Miguel Bernardeau – who in 2022 was part of the mysterious “1899” – puts on the cape and mask to bring life to a kind of reinterpretation of this avenger, in an adventure in which he must unmask his father’s murderers and bring them to justice in the very changing city of Los Angeles in the 19th century.
Renata Notni, Dalia Xiuhcoatl, Emiliano Zurita, Andrés Almeida, Cuauhtli Jiménez, Elia Galera, Paco Tous, Cristo Fernández and Cecilia Suárez are part of the cast of the strip written and created by the scriptwriter and cartoonist Carlos Portela, which has Javier Quintas, Jorge Saavedra and José Luis Alegría as directors.
January 25 – Griselda (Premiere) – Netflix
The director Eric Newman, who some time ago created the very successful “Narcos” and “Narcos: México”, returns to the genre and that criminal world with this six-episode production in which Sofía Vergara assumes the role of the Colombian Griselda “La Madrina ” Blanco, the ambitious architect of one of the most powerful cocaine trafficking cartels in Miami during the 70s and 80s and one of the guides of the infamous Pablo Escobar.
With Andrés Baiz as director, the series has in its cast the participation of Alberto Guerra, Christian Tappan, Martín Rodríguez, Juliana Aidén Martínez, Vanessa Ferlito and the popular reggaeton and urban music singer Karol G in her debut as an actress.
January 26 – Masters of the Air (Premiere) – Apple TV+
The World War II anthology that Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks began developing in 2001 with the release of “Band of Brothers” and continued in 2010 with “The Pacific” adopts its planned trilogy form with the launch of this miniseries focused on in the United States Air Force during that conflict of global dimensions, while carrying out dangerous missions, fighting in the heights against Nazi Germany and dealing with the psychological and emotional consequences of the harsh conflict.
Based on the real chronicles of the 100th. bomber unit collected by historian and biographer Donald L. Miller, the anticipated war drama is led by young figures such as Oscar nominees Austin Butler and Barry Keoghan, Ncuti Gawa, Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle, Nate Mann, Raff Law, Kai Alexander, James Murray and Tommy Jessop, among more.
January 26 – Expats (Premiere) – Amazon Prime Video
Nicole Kidman returns once again to the small format to star in this six-episode proposal directed by Lulu Wang – known for the film “The Farewell” -, set in the vibrant and heterogeneous Hong Kong in 2014, where the lives of three American women come together. They cross as a result of a family tragedy that will invite you to explore themes such as class privileges, friendship and the relationship between victimization and guilt.
Actresses Sarayu Blue and Ji-young Yoo complete the main trio of a cast also made up of actors Brian Tee, Jack Huston, Will Or, Ruby Ruiz and Flora Chan, who give life to this story scripted by Vera Miao, Gursimran Sandhu and author Janice YK Lee, the writer of the novel of the same name on which the series was based.
