“The Rachel” is back: Even though Jennifer Aniston once described her famous “Friends” hairstyle as the “ugliest haircut.” But at the Golden Globes, the actress appeared again for the first time with a look that was reminiscent of that.
When they saw Jennifer Aniston at the Golden Globes, some onlookers might have thought of the song “I’ll Be There For You” by The Rembrandts. The actress surprised the award ceremony with a hairstyle that was very close to her former hair from the series “Friends”. The shoulder-length cut with a side parting became so world-famous thanks to her role in the sitcom that it was simply given the title “The Rachel”.
Aniston wore a few centimeters more on her head than her popular figure Rachel Green at the awards ceremony. The fact that the slightly modified “The Rachel” comeback actually happened is more than surprising given old interviews with the actress. So in 2011, Aniston didn’t let her hair down – or to stylist Chris McMillan, about whom she said: “[Er war] the bane of my existence because it started with that damn ‘Rachel’, which wasn’t my best look.”
Jennifer Aniston: “The ugliest haircut”
She found correspondingly clear words about the hairstyle itself: “How should I say it? I think it was the ugliest haircut I’ve ever seen.” Even years later she had not changed her mind and described “The Rachel” as “horrible and high maintenance”. Three different brushes were used and the daily procedure felt like “having to carry out an operation”. She “cursed Chris every time I had to use a hair dryer,” Aniston joked.
Almost ten years later, however, Aniston seems to have finally moved on from this opinion. At the Golden Globes, she and “The Rachel” seemed to be best friends again.
