“Tuner” was one of the fan favorites. But now loyal viewers have to say goodbye to his role.
After around 15 years with all sorts of ups and downs for his series character “Tuner”, actor Thomas Drechsel is leaving the RTL daily “Good Times, Bad Times”. The broadcaster announced that the 36-year-old is currently in his final days of filming. Then he says goodbye to his role from the fictional Berlin neighborhood in which the soap is set.
Drechsel, who had played the role of the good-natured Max “Tuner” Krüger since 2009, appeared composed but also a little wistful. “These 15 years were a very formative time in my life,” he said in an RTL interview.
“Even though I would have liked to have stayed another 15 years, I can understand that the cast changes and the characters’ stories are told at some point.” “GZSZ” will always remain a part of him.
The story of his character
“Tuner” has experienced quite a lot at “GZSZ” – at the beginning as a clique bully, later as a bar owner and finally as an entrepreneur and millionaire. At times, “Tuner” needed a donor heart and also had to cope with the loss of his best friend Dominik (played by Raúl Richter). Over the years, a supporting role has become a leading role. “Tuner” was one of the fan favorites.
How exactly “Tuner’s” farewell from the GZSZ universe will be told is still unknown. The resolution will be shown in the spring, as RTL announced.
