Die Toten Hosen: They thank rescue workers in flood disaster

Die Toten Hosen report on floods that they experienced directly: “Not far from our office, streets were flooded.”

Die Toten Hosen have spoken about the devastating floods. The band from Düsseldorf wrote in their post: “Like many of you, we look in shock at the events of the last few days. Not far from our office, entire streets were flooded, houses, apartments and sports clubs were partially badly damaged.” In addition, the punk rockers published a picture by photographer David Young, on which a flooded area can be seen.

Employees and friends of the musicians are also affected, the post said. “Thank God none of them was harmed. The news from the disaster areas about dead, injured and devastated towns make us all the more sad. We think of the people and thank the rescue workers and supporters on site,” the band wrote in conclusion.

Violent storms have left a trail of devastation in parts of Germany. A total of 159 people were killed in Rhineland-Palatinate, North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria, which has also been affected by the flood since the weekend. Many are still missing.
