The series focuses on the figure of John Dutton, who has the largest contiguous ranch in the United States under his command. This ranch is constantly threatened on multiple fronts: greedy land developers, an Indian reservation, and America’s first National Park.
It is a deep analysis of a violent world far from the media’s gaze, a place where land greed arouses the interest of billionaire developers and where politicians are easily manipulated by large oil and timber corporations.
In this scenario, serious problems such as poisoning of drinking water and unsolved crimes are nothing more than everyday, accepted consequences of living in this new frontier. The series represents the best and the worst of America, all seen through the eyes of a family that embodies both aspects.
