Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem are parents of a ten-year-old girl and a twelve-year-old boy. Both Oscar winners appear to agree on their stance on smartphones.
Hollywood actress Penélope Cruz rejects cell phones for her children (10 and 12 years old). “It’s so easy to be manipulated, especially when the brain is still developing,” the 49-year-old, who has a daughter and a son with Hollywood star Javier Bardem, told the fashion magazine “Elle”. “And who pays the price for this? Not us, not our generation, which perhaps learned how a BlackBerry works at the age of 25.”
The Oscar winner (“Vicky Cristina Barcelona”) made it clear that ten-year-old Luna and twelve-year-old Leo do not yet have their own cell phones. “It’s a cruel experiment on children, on teenagers.”
Cruz and her husband apparently agree in their rejection of smartphones: Oscar winner Bardem (“No Country for Old Men”) told the German Press Agency in 2022 that in his eyes, cell phones had “changed everything,” “unfortunately too for the worse”: “The ability to make contact has been lost.”
