Frank Farian has died
Farian had produced famous pop music classics since the 1970s. Whether “Daddy Cool” or “Rasputin”: his songs are classics of pop music and the soundtrack of a generation. He founded globally successful groups such as Boney M. and Milli Vanilli, about whom a film was recently released. At the beginning of the 1990s it became known that the two members of the band Milli Vanilli did not sing themselves.
Farian was born Franz Reuther in Kirn an der Nahe. At 14 he moved to Saarland and learned to be a chef. He recorded his first record with his band Die Schatten in 1963 in a former cowshed. From Saarland we went to Rosbach near Frankfurt and later to the USA.
