The US musician Dr. Dre, 58, is organizing a charity auction to benefit Los Angeles public schools. Together with the music entrepreneur Jimmy Iovine, the musician will auction a number of works of art in Los Angeles on February 27th, including a work by the US artist Rashid Johnson, the auction house Sotheby’s announced.
The proceeds will go to a foundation that supports Los Angeles public schools. The Frieze Art Fair will also take place in the west coast metropolis at that time.
Dr. Dre, whose real name is André Romell Young, became world famous as a rapper with songs like “The Next Episode” and “Forgot About Dre” and as a music producer.
