The current exhibition “The Mystery of Banksy – A Genius Mind” in the Linz tobacco factory had only two days under its belt, then a lockdown got in the way. On December 17th, the show will be continued with around 150 true-to-original reproductions from the work of the mysterious artist, who is unknown to the public, in the Lösehalle in the inner courtyard of the Linz tobacco factory. The current regulations apply! In Germany, the exhibition of the Passau organizer COFO has already impressed hundreds of thousands, in Linz more than 50,000 visitors are expected by March 20, 2022.
“Modern Robin Hood”
The spectacular exhibition was curated by the Berlin art educator Virginia Jean: “Banksy’s works encourage everyone to touch their own nose and critically question the prevailing system. He is a modern Robin Hood.”
Real Banksy fans are hereby invited to take part in the facade campaign. The OÖNachrichten and the agency COFO are looking for owners of private or company buildings who are willing to have a Banksy work sprayed on their house facade. You can choose from the famous “Girl with Balloon”, “Washing Zebra” or “The Flower Thrower”, which were shredded during an auction in October 2018. Your building (House, company) is conveniently located in terms of traffic and is easily visible, the area for the sprayed Banksy plant is at least 40 square meters.
