It is a very versatile snack that can be used to accompany a chopped, breakfast either snack. Another of its benefits is that it can be frozen and eaten at any time.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cassava starch.
  • 1 cup of milk.
  • 50 gr of butter.
  • 1 cup warm water.
  • 1 cup olive oil.
  • pinch of salt.
  • 4 eggs.
  • 2 – 3 cups grated cheese to gratin.

How to prepare pão de queijo, step by step

  • In a saucepan, heat the milkthe butter and salt until it boils. Then remove from heat.

  • Add the cassava starch to the hot mixture, stirring vigorously until you obtain a homogeneous mass.

  • Let the dough rest and cool a little.

  • Add the eggsone at a time, mixing well after each addition.

  • Add the grated cheese to the doughmaking sure it is distributed evenly.

  • With the help of two spoons, form dough balls and put them in the mold.

  • Bake for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the Pães de Queijo are golden.

  • Remove from the oven and enjoy.
