Dion didn’t officially share her diagnosis until December 2022, when she announced she was postponing her world tour due to spasms affecting her walking and singing. “Although we are still learning about this rare condition, we now know that this is what has been causing all the spasms I have been having,” she said at the time on Instagram. “Unfortunately, the spasms affect all aspects of my daily life, sometimes causing me difficulty walking and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing as I am used to.”

Dion says she hopes the documentary “raises awareness about this little-known condition.”
“These past few years have been a huge challenge for me, the journey from discovering my condition to learning to live with it and manage it, but not letting it define me,” she said in a statement. “As the path to resuming my career as an actress continues, I have realized how much I have missed it, being able to see my fans. During this absence, I decided that I wanted to document this part of my life to help other people who share this diagnosis.”
One of the most successful performers in the history of pop music, Dion became famous as a teenager and has sold more than 250 million albums in her career. Her chart-topping hits include the classic “Titanic”, “My Heart Will Go On”the Oscar nominee “Beauty and the Beast” and romantic ballads like “Because You Loved Me” and “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now”.
