And about how important being a father is to him, he spoke unusually openly during an interview with the “Wall Street Journal”: “If people don’t have more children, civilization will crumble. Remember my words,” said the entrepreneur. “I cannot emphasize it enough: there are not enough people!” In doing so, however, he contradicts many scientists who already consider the earth to be overpopulated. And many couples who prefer not to have children out of concern about the climate crisis.
Elon Musk wants more offspring
In any case, as the father of six sons, Musk sets an example of what he would like other people to do. The now 50-year-old tragically lost a seventh son far too early: in 2002, little Nevada Alexander died of sudden infant death at the age of only ten weeks. A big blow to Elon Musk and his first wife, Canadian writer Justine Wilson.
Since they did not get pregnant again naturally, after a few years the two finally chose artificial insemination. Wilson first gave birth to twins Griffin and Xavier, then even the triplets Damian, Saxon and Kai. Nevertheless, the marriage broke up – Justine Wilson felt bullied by Musk, pressured (she should, for example, dye her hair blonde) and not valued. In 2008 they divorced.
His family life is complicated
Things get even more complex when Musk marries his second wife: He stayed together with British actress Talulah Riley (“St. Trinians”) for two years – then in 2012 they divorced. He is said to have dated Cameron Diaz in the meantime, but these could also be mere rumors. But only a little later the two seemed to miss each other and came together again. And even married again in 2013. But as so often it turned out to be true: what once didn’t work, will probably never work. The couple separated again, Musk filed for divorce in 2014 – but withdrew it at short notice. In 2016, Riley filed for divorce, and this time it was final. Musk has no children with Talulah Riley, but she lovingly looked after the kids from her first marriage.
Elon Musk doesn’t seem particularly talented at keeping a woman to himself. But he never stays alone for long. After breaking up with his second (and third) wife, he dated actress Amber Heard for a while. But after a few months it was over – and the billionaire got to know the musician Grimes (real life Claire Elise Boucher). The couple got together through a joke on Twitter – and the love for the digital was also shown in the name of their son X AE A-XII, who was born in 2020. It looked like Musk had found the woman for life. But in September 2021 it was over – the two announced the separation. So the billionaire is back. He’s probably not going to be single for long, though …
