The world-famous musician, Roger Waters, was fired from the company BMGone of the biggest record labels on the planet, due to their controversial statements about Ukraine, Israel and the United States. He had been part of the company since 2016.
The decision had been made since last year, when the former leader of Pink Floyd made some controversial statements following the attack by the terrorist group Hamas in Israel.
These statements were BMG’s main reason for breaking ties with Waters, according to Variety. The company, based in Germany, had signed a relationship in 2016 with the musician and planned to release a new version of Pink Floyd’s historic 1973 album, ”The Dark Side of the Moon”, last year. However, this album was released through Cooking Vinyl in the United Kingdom.
Complications on Roger Waters’ tour of Argentina
Last November 21 and 22, Waters played in Argentina but had problems with his stay. Two hotels in Buenos Aires canceled their reservations for his sayings about war between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas.
The Faena Hotel was the first to cancel reservations of the English musician. Then his production tried to get him accommodation in the Alvear Hotel where they got another negative. In addition, the Federal Justice prohibited the singer from making anti-Semitic statements during his shows at the River Plate stadium.
During his tour of Argentina, he deepened his rejection of Israel in an interview with the media Página 12. “It is an ethnic cleansing that they have been carrying out for 75 years. They have killed hundreds and hundreds of people, they have committed atrocities, massacres that have been happening for then. No more. It’s over. But lock me up, send me to sleep in the stable?” The easiest thing is to point me out as an anti-Semite, and it’s because they don’t have a moral compass, they can’t have a solid argument from the Israeli side of the issue. “They are committing murder, they are committing genocide, they are oppressing another people.”
What Roger Waters said about Israel
On October 7 of last year, Roger Waters questioned the terrorist massacre, trying to justify Hamas. After the attack, the musician proposed a staging: “The world does not know what really happened,” he said and did not rule out that it could be a “false flag operation.”
“It is very suspicious that they did not hear any noise from the explosions. Israel exaggerated the magnitude of what happened by inventing stories about the beheading of babies.” He added: “”What we know is that, whether it’s a false flag operation or not, or whatever happened, and whatever history we come to know… we don’t know if we’ll ever know much of the real story. . It’s always hard to know what really happened.“, he expressed.
Last November, a month after the Hamas attack on Israel, Roger Waters himself revealed that BMG had fired him in a television interview. But the disengagement accelerated after some statements and posts by the British musician about Hamas against Israel.
On her Instagram account, Waters went further: “There is no equivalence there are the oppressed, the Palestinians and the oppressor the Israeli government. The oppressor has been murdering the oppressed for seventy-five years. Join the voice of the people, the huge global chorus of protest, and demand that the Israeli fascists.”
