The band of Amy Winehouse advertisement two new shows in tribute to the late singer that will take place in London later this year.
The two newly announced shows follow two sold-out shows the band played last year, celebrating what would have been the artist’s 40th birthday.
The upcoming concerts will take place at the KOKO venue at Winehouse’s home in Camden, north London. They will be on Friday, December 20 and Saturday, December 21.
The shows are scheduled to see the Amy Winehouse band perform some of the artist’s biggest hits and celebrate the singer’s life and career, for which they worked with her from her first gigs in local pubs to her monumental moment at the Pyramid Glastonbury stage.
The band is led by the singer’s bassist and musical director, Dale Daviswho were also musical consultants on the upcoming biopic Back to Blackstarring Marisa Abela and directed by Sam Taylor Johnson.
Following Winehouse’s death in 2011, the band was fronted by vocalist Bronte Shandé and has toured Europe since 2022.
The film about Amy Winehouse presented its first trailer
Amy Winehouse, the renowned British R&B singer, will have her own biographical film. The production company premiered the first trailer for the film that reviews the artist’s beginnings until her tragic death at the age of 27.
Actress Marisa Abela will be in charge of playing the global R&B star. The film is directed by Sam Taylor Johnson, responsible for films such as “Fifty Shades of Grey” and “Nowhere Man”, the biopic of John Lennon. The premiere on the big screen in the United States will be on May 10, 2024.
“Back to black” is the first biopic based on the life of Amy Winehouse, the successful singer who died in 2011 from alcohol poisoning, although there are already several successful documentaries about her figure, such as “Amy” and “Reclaiming Amy”. The trailer is set to music with the theme that gives its name to the famous album and the film itself.
