He posted a caption that included excerpts from his 1998 song “The Wish.” He once wrote the song for her. “I remember mom hearing your alarm clock go off in the morning,” it says. “I would lie in bed and listen to you getting ready for work, the sound of your makeup case on the sink.” Springsteen continued: “We’ll find a little rock ‘n’ roll bar and go out and dance.” In 1998 the musician had already lost his father Douglas.

She was his biggest fan

Adele Springsteen, who was born in May 1925, was known for supporting her famous son. She bought him his first guitar in 1956 and remained his biggest fan for the next seven decades. She attended many of his concerts, danced to his songs and often joined him on stage.

During a “Springsteen on Broadway” show in July 2021, the singer emotionally recalled his mother’s “cheerful old soul” and her passion for dance, Today reported. “My mother loves to dance.” She grew up with the big bands and swing bands of the 1940s. Her illness “took a lot from her, but the need to dance hasn’t left her.” In the interview he also described how badly his mother was feeling. “She can’t speak. She can’t stand it. She can’t feed herself. But when she sees me, there’s always a smile… and there’s always a kiss.”
