On the website nachrichten.at/choradvent a door opens every day with a musical video Advent message from a choir. The men’s singing St. Wolfgang, the Mauthausen parish choir and the Allegria choir ensemble have already been seen and heard, among others. Today the Hans Sachs Choir sings “Merry Christmas Everywhere”.
“The end of the lockdown on December 17th will enable our choirs to attend church festivals around Christmas,” says Choir Association President Harald Wurmsdobler. At its virtual meeting on Thursday, the Austrian Choir Association decided to raise the vaccination status in the choirs on a voluntary basis. Wurmsdobler: “Our choirs are dealing with the pandemic responsibly. We assume that we will achieve an average vaccination rate of 80 to 90 percent.” (att)
