A trailer for the series “Coppola, the representative” was released yesterday in advance of the production about the former manager of Diego Armando Maradonawhich will see the light this year through Star+.
In October the start of production had been announced with the lead role of Juan Minujin with the broadcast of six chapters in a dramatic comedy tone, directed by Ariel Winogradwho also serves as showrunner of the series written by Emanuel Diez.
From the Star Original Productions label and made by Pampa Films, the series has the support of important names behind the camera, as it was written by Mariano Cohn, Gastón Duprat and Emanuel Diezand has the direction and general supervision of the filmmaker Ariel Winograd.
It will also have numerous figures on screen, with the aforementioned Minujín as Guillermo Coppola, Monica Antonópulos as Amalia “Yuyito” González, Joaquin Ferreira like “Poli” Armentano, Adabel Guerrero like Alejandra Pradón, Augustine Sullivan like Carlos Menem Jr. They will also be in the game Alan Sabbagh and Mayte Rodriguez.
What is “Coppola, the representative” about?
“In a humorous way, the fictional series revolves around Guillermo Coppola (Minujín), the manager of one of the most famous soccer players in the world, who tries to reconcile his hectic private life with a full-time job that takes him to deal with the unusual consequences of the actions of his client, whose sporting zenith is quickly followed by a period of frank decline,” explains the official synopsis, which deliberately avoids mentioning Maradona by his first and last name.
Composed of six 45-minute episodes, “Coppola, the representative” will propose an entry point that captures something of the spirit of the 90s in Argentina, in which Guillermo was one of the most emblematic characters.
The story has the approval of Coppola himself, who visited the set in the first days of filming. However, until now those responsible for the production have not explained whether Maradona will be one of the characters that appears on camera.
It will be based on real events, will be filmed in Buenos Aires and Naples, and will have an extensive cast that is completed with Maria Campos (Suzanne), Federico Baron (Daniel Scioli), Maria del Cerro (Karina Rabolini), Santiago Bande (Guillermo Coppola young), Anna Favella (Domenica), Yayo Guridi (Skinny Hose), Teté Coustarot (Presenter), Diego Perez, Nicolas Mateor (Cuneo Libarona), Roxana Randon (Ana, Guillermo Coppola’s mother) and Fabián Arenillas (Néstor Ibarra).
