In 1936, Klaus Mann was already living in exile for three years when he targeted the follow-up culture of the Third Reich in the key novel “Mephisto”. His former friend Gustaf Gründgens, at that time director of the Prussian State Theater in Berlin, is at the center of the story and appears in it as actor Hendrik Höfgen. The historical and psychological accuracy makes “Mephisto” a timeless parable of power and corruption.
In the Kammerspiele, on December 26th, 2 p.m., “Alice in Wonderland” as a musical version for everyone from six years of age to Lewis Carroll’s classic.
The comedy will also take place on December 26th on the Studiobühne Promenade “A bit of calm before the storm” by Theresia Walser Premiere: Franz Prächtel and Peter Söst became famous with their portrayal of Hitler. After all, Ulli Lerch made it to Goebbels. Now they are waiting for the start of a talk show to which they have been invited as specialists for “Nazi greats”. Since the moderator is late, the conversation between the three of them has already started.
On December 29th, Verdi’s opera will be held in the Musiktheater am Volksgarten “Aida” Premiere. The musical adaptation of the 1995 Oscar-winning film will follow there on January 1st “Priscilla – Queen of the Desert” As an Austrian premiere: glitter costumes, big hearts and hits non-stop!
