Nobility: Denmark’s Crown Prince Christian signs law for the first time

When dad is traveling, the eldest son is in charge in the kingdom – a first for the Danish Crown Prince Christian. His signature adorns a law for the first time.

In the absence of his father King Frederik X, Denmark’s Crown Prince Christian signed a law for the first time. As deputy of the head of state, the 18-year-old heir to the throne signed the change in the law with the words “Under our royal hand and seal. In the name of the king: Christian, Crown Prince,” according to the Danish Law Gazette. The change in the law is dated Wednesday, so it came into force on Thursday.

The weekly newspaper “Se og Hør” initially reported on the prince’s premiere. The change in the law affects the list of countries against which tax sanctions are imposed in Denmark.

King Frederik (55) has been on a foreign trip in Poland since Wednesday along with a business delegation and several ministers; the trip should be completed on Friday. The focus is primarily on climate issues such as energy efficiency, climate-friendly agriculture and biogas. In his absence, Frederik is represented by his eldest son Christian.
