Princess Kate has been back home for a few days after a 14-day hospital stay. Her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and little Prince Louis, welcomed her with a surprise.
Duchess Kate was separated from her three children for two weeks. She had to undergo abdominal surgery in the hospital, the palace reported. Further details were not published. But apart from her husband, Prince William, and her father-in-law, King Charles, only very few and close confidants were allowed to visit the ailing wife of the heir to the throne at her sick bed – her three children had to wait outside.
While Prince William went about everyday life with his nanny, the three little ones thought up a sweet welcome party for their mother. Last Monday the time had come and Princess Kate was chauffeured home from the London Clinic by her assistant Natasha Archer and with a lot of get-well gifts in the passenger seat.
The children prepared Princess Kate soul food
When they arrived at Adelaide Cottage on the grounds of Windsor Castle, Prince George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte surprised her with even more gifts. A family confidant revealed to the news portal “Express” that all three wrote their mother “get well soon” cards and prepared their mother’s favorite snacks.
The children have never been separated from their mother for so long before. Apparently they were not allowed to visit Kate in the clinic, reports People magazine. “To ensure patient safety and prevent infections, children are generally not permitted to visit the London Clinic without the hospital’s permission,” the tabloid writes. Instead, she kept in touch with the three of them via Facetime calls, as she did on professional trips.
According to Kensington Palace, Kate is said to be on the mend and making good progress. Prince William put his appointments on hold to support his wife. However, the princess herself should not be able to resume her duties until after Easter. Until then, her family is caring for her at home.
