Nicola Peltz premieres her directorial debut “Lola”. She gets support from her mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham.
Nicola Peltz Beckham (29) received support from her famous mother-in-law, Victoria Beckham (49), for the premiere of her new film “Lola” in Los Angeles. On the red carpet, Beckham and Peltz were demonstratively familiar.
Beckham and Peltz: together on the red carpet
Peltz posed for the premiere in simple white pants and a white corset top and put her arm around Beckham, who casually leaned against her in a black pants suit and held her hand. The support was mutual, so to speak: both outfits came from designer Beckham.
In addition to Victoria Beckham, Peltz was also joined at her event by her husband Brooklyn Beckham (24), his brother Cruz Beckham (18) and her best friend Selena Gomez (31). “Lola” marks the actress’s directorial debut. In the social drama, for which she also took on the lead role and wrote the script, she plays a 19-year-old teenager in precarious circumstances who is trying to get money to work with her brother to escape her toxic mother. “Lola” opens in America on February 9th.
A lot of criticism in advance for the social drama “Lola”
However, the film received a lot of criticism on social media even before its official release. She even suffered a shitstorm. The accusation: Because Peltz, as a millionaire from a good background, had no idea about precarious circumstances, the film would only scratch the surface. Her followers ask questions like: “Why does she look so glamorous in every scene?” or write sarcastically: “With money you can buy a film, but not talent.” Another comment reads: “I love it when privileged cis-nepo babies carry sex work in front of them like a designer bag.”
Peltz’s own environment, however, is less critical. Fellow actress Florence Pugh (28) wrote that she was “so excited” and “extremely proud” of her friend. Meadow Walker (25) also expressed her pride. And mother-in-law Victoria Beckham also said she couldn’t be prouder, writing: “Congratulations on this incredible film.”
